I Love
the Rain
by Ma. Erica So Dalag
Rain drops falling in my head,
and never knowing when it will end.
Should I run for cover,
or let another rain drop fall in my head again?
I would love to dance in the rain,
and knowing somehow it’ll help erase the pain.
Sometimes when I’m all alone,
and I see rain drops are falling outside again.
There’s happiness that I feel because rain is here once again.
Some may feels gloomy when it rains
and some just want to feel it in their hand.
But me I just love it when rain drops falls into my face.
Oh the magic that rain brings, it makes you feel unique.
It may bring you sadness, wet feeling in toes and clothes
but I just see happiness when it rains.
and never knowing when it will end.
I chose this
poem because I really love the rain for the happiness and joy it brings. I love
the rain because I get to observe the funny faces made by everyone on the
streets while trying to avoid the raindrops on their head, the puddles and
splashes. Also the rain always makes everyone closer and friendlier when
they're stuck under one shelter. I love the rain with all five senses: the
sight of rainbows which is attractive for me, the sound of rain as it hits in our
roof, the cool feeling of the raindrops when it hit your skin, the taste of
catching raindrops on your tongue like a child, and the clean fresh smell that
fills the air. The rain makes me comfortable, calm, peace of mind, reminds me
of the memories, and remembers me what I said to my father when I was a child.
Rain cleanses the earth and lastly I’ve had a fascination with water since I
was a child.
